-,t
WEST STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION ' S
Chairman; Susan Patterson, Vice-Chairman; David Kruh, Secretary; Dorothy Casolaro, Rick Nazzaro, &,n d, .IL's" P&A 1
Minutes of April 7, 2008
Members present:
Susan Patterson (SP)
David Kruh (DK)
Kathryn Greenfield (KG)
Rick Nazzaro (RN)
Dorothy Casolaro (DC)
Jeff Perkins (JP)
The meeting was called to order at 7: 45 p.m.
1. Application for 210 West St.: Second application this year. First application was
approved(replacement windows). Current proposed work is for replacement of rotting
shingles and trim as well as additional windows. Due to questions the board had on the
application, a telephone call was placed to the owner for clarification. Sally Chabert stated
that all other siding on the house has been done. They are replacing clapboard on the rear of
the house now. The owners would like to eventually replace all of the windows of the house
to be consistent. One third of the work has been done with the prior application. The goal is that
all windows be 6x6 and all clapboard is consistent. Their hope is that it will be done within one
year. The Commission voted to waive a Public Hearing on the second application. SP will send
out a letter to the abutters.
2. Sign Update: Commission members had walked the street with Ted McIntire and Mike
Debrigard in the fall. SP has been waiting to hear back from Ted on when the signs will be ready
to install. SP will inquire again as to the status of this task.
3. New officers: New officers will be needed by the end of June. SP will continue one more
year as Chair. DC will be ending her term in June 2008.
4. Outreach: Discussion occurred about the "vision" for the District. What makes a Historic
District? Our webpage has information on the District and we have also discussed sending out a
second letter to the homeowners. The Town Planner suggested a brochure. SP and DK will work
on this. RN suggested the idea of plaques for homeowners.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 pm.
Next meeting: May 12, 2008
