Corrections to the minutes of April 9, 2007 were made Minutes were accepted as
amended.
2. New members: SP talked with Rick Nazzaro and he agreed to be on the Commission.
He will send in the volunteer form. DC will ask Nancy Twomey, local architect if she
is interested in being a member. Another person suggested for membership was
Susan Blake.
3. Web page: SP has identified 5 links for the Community Web Page. SP sent contents
of the guidelines and application forms. The other three links are a map of
the district of which Dave has as a slide, Virtual Tour and the What is West Street
presentation. SP will send DK the email address of the Virtual Town Hall people,
who need our information by 5/18/07.
4. Discussion of status of 95 Howard St. project: SP contacted Maureen Knight to find
out how the permit went through without triggering the WSHD contact. SP sent a
letter to the homeowner listed on the permit on 4/23/07 requesting that he contact her
as soon as possible. Since SP has not heard from the homeowner, she will contact
Maureen and ask her to act as a gatekeeper and request that the owner get in touch
with the WSHD, give a working phone number, etc. SP will also try to call the
Assessor's office. She would also like to have the owners come in and talk with us
about the project so we will find out what the project entails.
5. District signs funding plan: History was discussed regarding who may have
responsibility for funding the WSHD signs. Peter H. had suggested the Historical
Commission, however, KG explained that the Historical Commission may not be in
a position to contribute to this project. DK will go back to Peter H. with his plan to
seek assistance from Archstone. He will prepare his presentation, show it to
members of the WSHD for approval, present it to Peter H. and then bring it to
Archstone. Members voted that the Commission design a funding request for the
signs, to be approved by Commission members and the town manager, Peter H.
