Call to Order <br />School Committee Chair, Mrs. Lisa Gibbs called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m. and read the mission statement of the <br />Reading Public Schools. Chairperson Gibbs reviewed the agenda. <br />IIA. Bills and Payroll <br />Signed as required. <br />IIB. Citizen's Input <br />Mr. John Russo inquired about if the book, Where the Heart is, has been discontinued. Superintendent Schettini <br />indicated that it has been taken off of the summer reading list for at least the next two years. He then gave some <br />additional comments about the book. <br />Chairperson Gibbs asked Superintendent Schettini to read a citizen's input letter from Lynda Zarrow, 34 Boswell Road <br />which commented on the citizen's input made by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Phillips at a recent school committee meeting. <br />IIC. Gifts <br />There were no gifts. <br />IID. Reports: Chairperson and School Committee Members <br />Mr. Brian Castelluccio, the student representative, indicated that he would not be at the next two school committee <br />meetings due to school functions and exams. <br />IIE. Reports: Superintendent <br />Superintendent Schettini indicated that Reading Memorial High School has won the Ames Award for having the highest <br />combined winning percentage in all sports in Eastern Massachusetts. Superintendent Schettini commended the work of <br />Mr. Phil Vaccaro and all of the coaches. Mr. Vaccaro thanked the community, Mr. Finigan, and Superintendent <br />Schettini for their support. <br />Mr. McFadden and Mrs. Gibbs praised the work of Mr. Vaccaro. <br />
