August 25, 2008 <br />3. Superintendent's Report <br />• Superintendent Schettini reported on the following: <br />1. The Reading Summer Enrichment Academy <br />2. The November Learning Conference that many administrators attended in <br />July. <br />3. The Expanding Boundaries of Teaching and Learning Course that is being <br />conducted in the school district this year for 36 teachers and administrators. <br />4. The Governor's Task Force 21St Century Learning Skills public hearing that <br />he attended last week. <br />5. The first day of school for teachers tomorrow. <br />C. Continued Business <br />1. Building Project Update (1) <br />Scott Dunlap of AI3 and Dave Capaldo of Design Partnerships gave an update of the <br />RMHS Building Project. They discussed the following: <br />• The sitework surrounding the high school <br />• The flooring replacement on "Main Street" <br />• The reconstruction of the outdoor track <br />• Change orders associated with the outdoor track <br />It was reemphasized by Superintendent Schettini that the contractor that is currently <br />working on the track is not the contractor that originally worked on the track <br />D. New Business <br />1. Chairperson Robinson would like the PR subcommittee to come up with a proposal for <br />the September 24th School Committee Meeting on School Committee Office Hours. <br />2. Mr. Michaud read a public disclosure filed with the Town Clerk's office announcement <br />that involved his company, Filament Design Studios and a bid for services with the <br />Reading Coalition Against Substance Abuse. <br />E. Routine Matters <br />1. Bills and Payroll (A) <br />2. Approval of Minutes <br />The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mr. Michaud, to approve <br />the open session minutes of July 14, 2008 Motion approved 5-0-0. <br />The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mr. Michaud, to approve <br />the open session minutes of July 23, 2008 Motion approved 5-0-0. <br />3. Bids and Donations <br />The committee voted on a motion by Mr. Caruso, seconded by Mrs Gibbs, to accept <br />donation the Coolidge PTO to support the purchase of instructional technology as outlined <br />in the Superintendent's memorandum dated AuLyust 20, 2008 Motion carries 5-0-0. <br />
