Schettini, Jr.-Superintendent of Schools John Doherty, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Mary DeLai, Director of Human Resource and Finances Visitors: Gail LaPointe, Beth Greenblatt, Patrick O'Sullivan, Steve Hagan, Advocate reporter, Doug Lyons, Kathy Favazza, Kerry Mullen L Call to Order Chairperson Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He welcomed the guests that attended the meeting. He also reviewed the agenda. II. Recommended Procedure A. Public Input (1) 1. Geoffrey Coram, Birch Meadow parent, inquired as to the School Committee's website and asked if information could be kept more current including contact information and meeting minutes B. Reports (1) 1. Student • Mr. Jesse Downing introduced Mr. Patrick O'Sullivan and provided some background information on him; Mr. O'Sullivan was welcomed to his new role. 2. Liaison • Commendation letter for Ms. DeLai • Mrs. Gibbs highlighted the great success of the recent Blue Ribbon Institute 3. Superintendent's Report • Superintendent Schettini discussed the following 1. Superintendent Schettini discussed the field trips last week to Costa Rica, China, Italy, and Nature's Classroom. 2. The donation that Winchester Hospital gave the district. 3. The AASA Advocacy Legislative Conference that he attended last week in Washington D.C. He discussed presentations by Arne Duncan and Roberto Rodriquez about the ARRA funding and the true intent of the funding. He also discussed the Federal DOE Innovation grants.
