Schettini, Jr.-Superintendent of Schools <br />John Doherty, Assistant Superintendent of Schools <br />Mary DeLai, Director of Human Resource and Finances <br />Visitors: Gail LaPointe, Beth Greenblatt, Patrick O'Sullivan, Steve Hagan, Advocate reporter, Doug Lyons, <br />Kathy Favazza, Kerry Mullen <br />L Call to Order <br />Chairperson Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He welcomed the guests that <br />attended the meeting. He also reviewed the agenda. <br />II. Recommended Procedure <br />A. Public Input (1) <br />1. Geoffrey Coram, Birch Meadow parent, inquired as to the School Committee's website <br />and asked if information could be kept more current including contact information and <br />meeting minutes <br />B. Reports (1) <br />1. Student <br />• Mr. Jesse Downing introduced Mr. Patrick O'Sullivan and provided some <br />background information on him; Mr. O'Sullivan was welcomed to his new role. <br />2. Liaison <br />• Commendation letter for Ms. DeLai <br />• Mrs. Gibbs highlighted the great success of the recent Blue Ribbon Institute <br />3. Superintendent's Report <br />• Superintendent Schettini discussed the following <br />1. Superintendent Schettini discussed the field trips last week to Costa Rica, <br />China, Italy, and Nature's Classroom. <br />2. The donation that Winchester Hospital gave the district. <br />3. The AASA Advocacy Legislative Conference that he attended last week in <br />Washington D.C. He discussed presentations by Arne Duncan and Roberto <br />Rodriquez about the ARRA funding and the true intent of the funding. He <br />also discussed the Federal DOE Innovation grants. <br />
