Reading Municipal Light Board <br />Executive Session! <br />230 Ash Street, Reading, MA 01867 <br />August 24, 1998 <br />Start Time of Executive Session: 9:30 p.m. <br />End Time of Executive Session: 10:03 p.m. <br />Attendees <br />Commissioners: <br />Messrs. Pacino, Hughes, Burditt and Swyter <br />RMLD Staff: <br />Messrs. Rucker, and Blomley <br />Others: <br />Ms. Diedre Lawrence of Rubin & Rudman <br />1. Minutes of July 27,1998 <br />`1 <br />A motion was made by Mr. Burditt and seconded by Mr. Swyter to approve the 7/27/98 <br />Executive Meeting Minutes. <br />Motion carried 4:0 <br />By a poll of the Board members: Mr. Hughes - Aye, Mr. Pacino - Aye, Mr. Burditt - Aye and <br />Mr. Swyter - Aye. <br />3. Board Discussions <br />a. North Reading Sub Station Location. <br />Mr. Rucker discussed activities to date to explore two alternate sites to 24 Haverhill St., North <br />Reading. Sites discussed were property owned by the Town of North Reading and property at <br />the end of Cedar St. in North Reading. Board discussion ensued. <br />b. Zoning Exemptions, Special Permits <br />Mr. Rucker discussed the schedule impact of using local regulatory processes instead of state <br />processes. Ms. Lawrence discussed the advantages/disadvantages of each approach. <br />Mr. Rucker noted that he would need the Board's formal approval on Phase 4 & 5 soon. <br />Mr. Rucker asked the Board for their flexibility in allowing him to make the necessary <br />decisions. The Board agreed to leave the decision on local vs. state regulatory processes up to <br />Mr. Rucker and stated that they are not opposed to going the DTE route. <br />3. Motion to Adjourn <br />A motion was made by Mr. Burditt and seconded by Mr. Swyter to adjourn the Executive <br />Session and return to the Regular Session for the sole purpose of adjourning. <br />Motion carried by a poll of the Board members 4:0. <br />Mr. Pacino - Aye; Mr. Hughes - Aye; Mr. Burditt - Aye; and Mr. Swyter - Aye. <br />A true copy of the RMLD Board of Commissioners; <br />minutes as approved by a majority of the Board. <br />t <br />Mr. Willard Burditt <br />Secretary, RMLD Board of Commissioners <br />
