Minutes 10/20/97 page 7 <br />Town of Reading Municipal Light Board <br />MEETING MINUTES -Executive Session <br />Date: October 20, 1997 <br />Location: 230 Ash Street, Reading, MA 01867 <br />Time: 7:30 p.m. <br />Attendees: Messrs. Ames, Hughes, Pacino, Burditt and Swyter <br />Messrs. Rucker and Ms. Bernat <br />At 10:30 p.m. a Motion was made to enter into Executive Session for the purpose of <br />Union discussion and to return to regular session to adjourn. The motion carried 510. <br />9. Executive Session <br />Mr. Rucker informed the Board that the Line Station Meter negotiations would be <br />held on 11/3 and requested input from the Board. He stated that he has given up on <br />the Union becoming flexible and becoming more productive per the dollar spent <br />and that he is planning on going to a one year status quo contract with no changes. <br />Linda - when they were told in 1994 at all comp meeting where they found out that <br />meter readers were going to be, tuition reimbursement program was not used by any <br />of them. <br />'Mr. Pacino asked what would be the best for restructuring. <br />Mr. Rucker stated employment security and flexibility; keeping these people and <br />retraining. He also stated that he wants to add 20 more lineman and offer customer <br />service and reliability. <br />The Board recommended that Mr. Rucker listen if the Union brings flexibility to the <br />table.. <br />a <br />Mr. Rucker said he'd go simple and if they come back with 100% guarantee and <br />flexibility, he'd consider it. <br />10. Motion to Adjourn <br />On a motion made by Mr. Hughes and seconded by Mr. Burditt, the Board voted to <br />adjourn and return to. Regular Session for the sole purpose of adjournment.
