Minutes of the Board of Library Trustees Meeting <br />Monday, May 17, 2010 <br />Attending: David Hutchinson, Chair; Vicki Yablonsky; Karyn Storti; Dick Curtis Dor "S6, I?,, <br />Assistant Directory Ruth Urell, Director <br />Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m. 20@ 3M 12 P ' <br />Minutes of April 12, 2010, approved unanimously (Storti/Yablonsky). <br />Financial.Report <br />• Ruth Urell pointed out that the $85,000 transfer approved by Town Meeting needs to be <br />shown as a capital expenditure so that it will not affect the formula for the book budget. <br />Statistical Report <br />• While attending a recent conference, Amy Lannon discovered that Google tracks stats of the <br />visitors to the RPL website. The average time fora viewer is 1:32 minutes. It was mentioned <br />.that a Wikipedia entry for RPL might increase the number of hits <br />Foundation (R. Curtis) <br />• The Foundation will discontinue the Helen Nigro Lecture Series; and will concentrate its <br />efforts on raising funds to increase the endowment <br />• The Foundation and Friends have been encouraged to join with the Library table at the <br />Reading Street Faire on Sept. 12 <br />Friends (V. Yablonsky) <br />• The House Tour netted approximately $11,000, despite reduced ticket sales. The largest <br />portion of ticket sales were sold to non-Friends members. Next year's tour will concentrate <br />on Cape Cod style homes. It was suggested that the group might consider discount pricing for <br />an advance ticket purchase to increase the number of sales. <br />Municipal Building Committee (V. Yablonsky) <br />• The Committee has met twice. The new <br />funding formula: <br />o First $3 million of eligible cost = 60% <br />o $3-6 million = 45% <br />o EQV - Community Economic Need Factor = +4.14% <br />o There are incentives for a Green Library program <br />
