V- <br />K. <br />o P 2:01 <br />Human Relations Advisory Committee for March 13, 2003 <br />1. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 b.m. Present: <br />Ed Tolland, Jim Keighly, Sumi Sinnatamby, Paul Kelley, <br />Bob Silva, Margaret Soli <br />2. Chief Silva explained the law regarding the recording of race <br />on traffic tickets. He suggests having that information <br />on the driver's license making it unnecessary to ask since the <br />officer might be in a potentially hostile situation. <br />He also explained the filing of citations after they are <br />issuedand precautions that are in place to prevent tickets <br />from being "fixed". <br />3. Chief Silva discussed the April 8 override ballot question <br />and the effect on public safety if it does not pass. <br />4. The letter sent to the Selectmen regarding the Habitat <br />for Humanity project was shared with the committee. <br />5.
