Welcome new members: Sharlene and Jerry. <br />3. Minutes approved as amended. <br />4. Treasurers report: Final fiscal bills. $2.93 left in the general fund. <br />5. Correspondence: Programs from SPNEA, National trust. Copy about the Hose <br />House by the Northern residents Assoc. 1932. <br />6. New humidifier installed in the archives. <br />7. Marion Woods (land adjacent to Lob's Pond Mill) is being sold to the town by <br />the developer. Some 18th century metal artifacts were found in the area. <br />8. The owner of the Foster-Emerson house received their occupancy permit <br />without the commission's review. The commission still reserves the right to visit the <br />house every three years. <br />9. 379 Haverhill St. CPDC has concluded its review and the subdivision has <br />been approved. The commission was instrumental in adjusting the placement of the <br />sewer and the width of the road. Town planner will be there during the initial <br />construction phase. <br />10. Walnut St. scenic road designation. The town was using conventional granite <br />curbing and aggravating the homeowners. A hearing on July 1, the town agreed to <br />remove all the curbing except at certain areas. Virginia asked if the commission felt <br />that contemporary stone walls were acceptable on scenic roads. The commission felt <br />that a scenic road would benefit from stone walls of any age. There will be another <br />hearing on this issue on July 14. We need information on alternative curbing. <br />11. Election of officers: Clay Jones for Chairman <br />Louise Sandberg for Secretary <br />Roberta Sullivan for Treasurer <br />Moved, seconded and approved: 5-0-0. <br />12. July 27 is scheduled to unveil the ,1854 map of Reading. <br />13. Next meeting August 3. <br />14. Adjourn d: 9:15. Approved as amended 8-3-99 LS <br />
