Wilbar Hoxie <br />Louise Sandberg <br />Joe Hagarty, reporter Chronicle <br />Anne Krieg,Town planner <br />1. Called to order: 7:35. <br />2. Minutes approved as amended, <br />3. Returned $8.60 to the town from the general fund. <br />4. July 27th three members of the commission presented the conserved 1854 <br />map to the town. The board of selectmen thanked the commission and felt it was a <br />very appropriate use of the celebration trust. <br />5. Town Manager let the commission know about another alternative to a slate <br />roof is available for the senior center. <br />6. 10 Pierce St. (Samuel Pierce Organ Factory) Denise Moynihan of Carter & <br />Coleman represent a prospective owner who want to turn the property into a town <br />house. The property is on the national register. Ms. Miller wants the town planner to <br />come to us for advice. <br />7. The town. is intending to create a new stone wall at 55 Walnut St . <br />8. Across the street from the Pierce Organ factory is a brick commercial building. <br />Arrow Direct wants to change the foot print of the building. <br />9. CPDC is in the design stage in planning a traffic light and curbing for the corner <br />of Woburn and West street. <br />10. Virginia moved that Mark Cardono be appointed a member of theCelebration <br />Trust Fund. Approved. <br />11. Library has started construction of their new entrance way. <br />12. Resident of 9 Mill St., North Reading wants to build a swimming pool. The <br />property abuts the archaeological site. Virginia wants to send a copy of the plans to <br />NRHC. The pool appears to be an above ground pool. <br />14. Virginia suggested we contact Kaminski to run another Antiques Appraisal Day. <br />15. Town planner came to talk about (a.) 10 Pierce St. We do not know what the <br />new owner would intend to do with the property. The area is zoned for single family <br />use and the building is quite large. (b.)The town got the grant for replacing the senior <br />center roof, but there is no funding. (c.) The new owners will be able to close on the <br />property at 379 Haverhill St. <br />16. Virginia has alerted the building inspector about the Pearl St. barn being <br />eligible for the demolition delay bylaw. Even though the street number will be <br />different, it will be the same original property. <br />17. There is a potential bylaw coming before the CPDC about mansionization. <br />18.
