Reading Historical Commission Minutes <br />June 13, 2006 <br />Attending: <br />Virginia Adams - Chairman Lt. Col. Wilbar Hoxie Susan Patterson <br />Mark Cardono - Secretary Clay Jones Linda Tuttle <br />Karen Herrick <br />Call to order 7:35 PM <br />Common Signage: <br />Review a letter from Peter Hechenbleikner regarding signage on the Common. According to the letter-,. Thpr Garden <br />Club is sponsoring one sign and he is looking for another sign sponsor. He will cdfr §itler'~lterrlatOocatioh . Virginia <br />suggested sending a response to Peter and a copy to the Selectmen. <br />The Commission reviewed a draft response written by Susan. Some changes were discussed and made. Virginia and <br />Susan will work on the letter to Peter Hechenbleikner regarding the signs that he wants to put on the Common. <br />Planninq session for Conservation Commission hearing on 420 Franklin Street: <br />The Conservation Commission seems willing to work with The Commission. The Commission is allotted 30 minutes <br />on June 14, 2006. Virginia will make an introduction. Kathy Greenfield will read the letter into the record. Clay will <br />make a presentation mainly about defending the public good, including a PowerPoint slide show. Doug Green, from <br />the Conservation Commission, sat in on the meeting for a short time. The Commission reviewed the presentation and <br />some changes were made. <br />The Conservation Commission will probably require a bond for the work. <br />The Commission discussed restrictions on the deed of the house because of the public interest in saving the house. <br />Some restrictions could include the frame of the house, roof boards, siding, interior treatments, and location and <br />setting. The restrictions will be brought up at the hearing. However, the specifics of the restrictions will be agreed <br />upon by the owner and The Commission. The Commission discussed how additions to the house would affect the <br />coverage of the aquifer district. The Commission reviewed Fran Fink's write up on the variance request and <br />discussed The Commission's rebuttal. <br />Miscellaneous: <br />Linda is all set for Town Day on Saturday June 16, 2006. <br />Adjourned 10:00 PM <br />RHC Minutes Rhc2006O6l3.doc Page 1 of 1 <br />
