Reading Historical Commission Meeting Minutes 1 July_ 2006 <br />Meeting called to order at 7 pm in the Berger Room at Town Hall. 2L, 3 <br />Commission Members in attendance included: Kathy Greenfield, Chair <br />Mark Cardono Karen Herrick <br />Sharlene Reynolds Santo, Secretary Clayton Jones <br />Virginia Adams Susan Patterson <br />• Treasurers Report - One last bill for archival boxes from university Press was submitted into <br />the 2005-2006 budget. <br />• Minutes - from the June 9th meeting were reviewed. Virginia moved to accept the minutes as <br />amended Sharlene seconded. 3-0-1 <br />• 420 Franklin Street The RHC spoke of the revised plan submitted by the owner that has the <br />new house slightly moved the northwest away from the wetlands. The lot line with the Day <br />property was also moved. The proposed Preservation Restriction Agreement was reviewed <br />and the need to have the withdrawal of the `Demolition Application as a condition was <br />discussed: <br />• 18 Woburn St - The burned shell is to be demolished. The new owner asked for input from <br />the RHC (via the town) for ideas on an appropriate facade. This property will be for <br />residential and retail use. Although the property is not on the town architectural and <br />historical inventory the group discussed brick as a possible option to be in keeping with the <br />building's currently in the area. RHC may ask to meet with the architect at a later date. <br />• Wal reens - The RHC discussed enlarging photos for display in the large vacant windows. <br />Virginia left meeting to attend another one to return for the Cos Cm meeting <br />• Archives Leak - More water was found dripping from an overhead pipe. No damage was <br />done due to the plastic protecting books and boxes in that area. <br />• New Scanner - The scanner could not be used due to an error message. Mark will look at it <br />again. <br />• Selectmen - Ben Tafoya is still the RHC's liaison. <br />
