V <br />L J4 <br />Reading Historical Commission Meeting Minutes 1 August i0 r; <br />r, <br />Meeting called to order at 7:3 5 pm in the Town Hall Conference Room <br />D. <br />Commission Members in attendance included: <br />Kathy Greenfield, Chair <br />Sharlene Reynolds Santo, Secretary Clayton Jones <br />Virginia Adams Susan Patterson <br />Minutes: <br />• Minutes: October 25, 2005 Minutes were reviewed. Virginia moved to accept the minutes as <br />given. Kathy seconded. 3-0. July 12, 2006 minutes were reviewed. Virginia moved to <br />accept the minutes as amended. Kathy seconded. 3-0. <br />• Treasurers Retort - no new business <br />• 420 Franklin St. - Town counsel has reviewed the preservation restrictions and they were <br />then forwarded to Brad Latham for input. Kathy called Brad last week to learn that he had a <br />few comments and was still waiting to hear from Peter Zanni and Shirley Day. Kathy will <br />contact Brad again. The restrictions will also need to be reviewed by Michael Steinitz at <br />Mass. Historical Commission; they can be submitted in draft form. Once Kathy has spoken <br />with Brad and gathered the required supporting documentation she will forward to Michael. <br />From earlier correspondences we were informed that there is a lead time, but they will review <br />as soon as possible. <br />• 75 Pleasant St - the RHC has received an application for demolition for this property. The <br />group discussed the completeness of this application and found it significantly complete for <br />this particular situation which is quite familiar. Sharlene moved that under section 5.13.3.3 <br />that the Commission make a positive initial determination because the structure at 75 <br />Pleasant St, Reading, MA is historically significant and is listed on the Historical and <br />Architectural Inventory. Virginia seconded Vote 3-0. A hearing date will be set for August <br />1'71h 2006 Kathy will make sure that a notice is put in the Chronicle and the letter is sent to the <br />applicant. <br />• 18 Woburn St - Kathy left a message for the owner to let them know that the structure is not <br />on the inventory and that we have no jurisdiction, but would be happy to speak with him. <br />• Walgreens - We still need to speak to them and find some photos for them to display. <br />• Senior work project - Virginia and Sharlene have made progress scanning the 1909 <br />evaluation in preparation of data entry. Virginia will contact Elena about starting the project. <br />• Community Planning Act (CPA) - Is being looked at again and Virginia has been asked if <br />someone from the RHC would volunteer to work with the group to prepare for a future Town <br />meeting. Clay volunteered to work with the CPA. <br />• Adjourned at 9:30 pm <br />• Next meeting scheduled for September 12, 2006. <br />z <br />
