Board of Health Meeting <br />MARCH 3,1999 aim l <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by Chairman James J. Nugent. Member Nancy <br />Carlson and staff liaison Jane Fiore were present. <br />Minutes of the December 10, 1999 meeting were accepted as read (vote 2:0:0). The <br />minutes of the June 11, 1998 meeting were tabled due to the compliment of Board <br />members present. It was note the January and February Board of Health meetings were <br />canceled due to weather.. <br />New Business <br />• Melendy lane development was brought before the Board for a request of a <br />favorable report to the Zoning Board of Appeals. According to the research <br />provided by the applicant's representative, Brad Latham, Esq. The subdivision <br />is not in a flood plan, the wetland line has been drawn and mark, the town <br />engineer agrees the subdivision is not subject to flooding with an elevation of <br />195.7" equal to 2 feet above water table. A motion was made by Nancy <br />Carlson to place a favorable report into the record to be sent to the Reading <br />Zoning Board of Appeals. The motion was seconded and voted 2:0:0. Staff <br />will fill report. <br />• Honora Petrosene filed for student intern massage license. She will be <br />working under the tutelage of Health Touch. The interview and application <br />were conducted and reviewed. By a 2:0:0 vote a temporary student massage <br />therapy license was granted with an expiration date of October 1, 1999. The <br />fee will be waived for student interns. <br />• Administrative update was given to the Board regarding the Hepatitis B <br />clinics, tobacco grant audit, the upcoming Drug Free Week events including <br />the Health fair on March 11, 1999 4-7 PM at the Hawkes Fieldhouse. <br />• It was noted the Administrative Assistant has resigned from her job and is <br />moving to Brewster, MA. The Board wishes her well. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />• Update on the electromagnetic field issue with the PCS antennae on the <br />Auburn Street water tower. <br />• The Board was informed of the plan for the Serv-Safe program for those <br />restaurant owners who do not hold a certificate of completion. <br />Meeting Adjourned at 6:55 PM <br />Next meeting April 8, 1999 <br />Respectfully submitted by, <br />- '7~7 <br />- ~ <br />Jane M.
