Board of Health Meeting <br /> Minutes # S. <br /> OCTOBER 14 1999 V- <br /> q 1h <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br /> Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by Acting Chairman Nancy Carlson. Board <br /> member Colleen Henessey - Seferian was present. Ch. James J. Nugent excused. Staff <br /> liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator was also present. <br /> The minutes of the September 9, 1999 meeting were accepted as read 2:0:0. <br /> New Business <br /> • The Board responded to a request by the Assistant Town Manager to keep the <br /> Hazardous Waste Committee members as an ad hoc committee continues to <br /> have questions regarding the Board of Health role in regard to hazardous <br /> waste spills. The administrator will compose a letter with concerns for the <br /> Board to review before the letter will be forwarded to the Selectmen. Vote <br /> 2:0:0. <br /> Plan Review <br /> • YMCA pool plan reviewed to date pools to open Thursday, Sept. 16. <br /> Review of Coolidge cafeteria plans. Discussion of circulation of air and <br /> mechanical plans of kitchen preparation area. Square footage remains <br /> unchanged circulation of air 4500 cu.ft/minute. School opened on Monday <br /> Sept. 7, 1999. Cafeteria will not be completed until Early October. Hand Sink <br /> and grease trap installed. <br /> • Danvers Bank on Main Street <br /> • Java Brewin' — 150 Main Street ready to open by September 7. <br /> • Question fast food restaurant—Wendy's at Harrow side parking lot—BOH <br /> issues will be dumpster, food prep equip, kitchen plan, Question arose <br /> concerning inspectional time with all new businesses. Administrator will <br /> continue to bring time and effectiveness issues forward to Town Manager. <br /> Other <br /> • Update on senior center roof—cracked tiles removed Town waiting for grant <br /> to replace roof. Although monies are available for an asphalt tile roof not a <br /> slate roof. Historical commission requests a slate roof. <br /> • Discussion on Housing issue at 496 Main Street. Illegal apartment. Health <br /> following normal procedures until tenant leaves premises. Magistrate session <br /> on August 31 did not resolve issues with BOH and Landlord. Criminal <br /> warrant issues for unpaid fine of$1295. <br /> • New Board Members given registration information regarding Massachusetts <br /> Association of Health Boards training sessions. Applications will be <br /> forwarded to Colleen Henessey-Seferian and Nancy Carlson. <br />
