€ t T <br />Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />i E 5 g DECEMBER 9,1999 <br />11; 30 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by Acting Chairman Nancy Carlson, Colleen <br />Henessey - Seferian was also present. Chairman James J. Nugent was excused.. Staff <br />liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator present. <br />The minutes of the November 9, 1999 meeting were accepted as read 2:0:0. <br />Review of BOH regulations Sec 16.5 and Sec 16.15 were tabled until January Board <br />meeting. <br />Old Business <br />496 Main Street criminal court case discussed. Assistant District Attorney supena <br />records from Board of Health and statement from the Health Administrator. The criminal <br />charges were dropped fine paid $1295 reduced to $450. Restitution to tenant regarding <br />belongings must be done. <br />26 Canterbury Drive pending court decision to remove travel from property. DSS <br />working with parents regarding 51 A filed. <br />New Business <br />~ 75 Mill St resident requested hearing before the Board regarding the main sewer <br />line on Mill Street and the request support of the board through the scenic road hearings. <br />Discussion regarding pumping schedule t2 x per year, fewer showers, and 1.6 gallon <br />toilets have been installed by the homeowner to conserve water and ponding of septic in <br />wetlands. Critical issue for this household. Board agreed to write a letter to the CPDC <br />and Conservation Commission regarding the potential public health issues at this <br />property with reference to Title 5 laws. The board requests update in February. <br />Other <br />• Discussion of pertussis outbreak 28 cases follow-up with phone calls and <br />mailing to direct contacts. <br />• Food Service certification program is planned for February 2000.
