Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />August 10, 2000 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by Acting Chairman Nancy Carlson, Colleen <br />Henessey - Seferian and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were <br />present. <br />The minutes of the June 8, 2000 were read. Nancy Carlson made a motion to accept the <br />minutes as read seconded by Colleen Seferian and approved as read 2:0:0. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Report on WNV - status in reading - no mosquitoes detected carrying the virus all <br />birds negative as on this meeting date. <br />• Review plan of Wendy's Restaurant construction on south Main Street tabled until <br />September meeting. <br />• Reorganization of the Board of Health tabled until the September meeting. Full <br />Board not present at meeting. <br />+ Dangerous Dog issue at 1480 Main Street update reported. Fence installed and animal <br />removed from quarantine. Owner has removed the animal from the premises as of <br />August 10, 2000. <br />• Discussion of Zoning Board of Appeals request of the Board of Health regarding <br />public health issues at the 443 Grove St. site. Board discussed the following items to <br />be listed in the letter: evaluate the aquifer protection district, to evaluate impact on <br />private potable wells in the area, to review adequate sewer and water capabilities for <br />the proposed 19 housing units, evaluate water table to set cellar floor elevations at 2 <br />feet above recorded and verified water table, evaluate highway noise level using an <br />acoustical engineer, if or when the site is approved for construction the builder/owner <br />will keep the site clear of trash and debris. <br />• Lengthy discussion was held regarding Junior Olympic Shooting Camp meeting <br />minimum recreational camp regulations. <br />
