Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts Chairman James J. Nugent, Nancy Carlson, <br />Colleen Henessey - Seferian and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator <br />were present. <br />The minutes of the April 12, 2001 were read. Colleen Seferian made a motion to accept <br />the minutes as read. The motion was seconded by Nancy Carlson and approved -vote: <br />3:0:0. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Review of operating guidelines. Operating guides accepted 3:0:0. Guidelines will be <br />signed at June meeting. <br />• The Board was given an update on completed meningitis clinic scheduled for May 8 <br />at Reading Memorial High School students. 44 students were immunized. <br />Immunization cards mailed to parents. Positive clinic the Division will plan to offer <br />the clinic again next year. <br />Discussion regarding the closure and development of the landfill. <br />Migration of and control methane gas and cover of the land life and process used burn <br />- off with emergency gauges, fill clean and tested before and after for heavy metals; <br />storm water will be addressed in the C AAA application to DEP to be filed in August. <br />Letter of agreement form the BOH will be sent with the application. BOH will sign <br />letter in June due to the cancellation of the July BOH meeting. <br />• Discussion regarding waste management - Dumpster control as a BOH <br />responsibility. BOH recommendations are to give warning then 2°d complaint <br />issue $100 fine. <br />• Review of development projects: 1375 Main Street, Beacon Street, and (Ashley <br />Place) Pond View. <br />• Next Order of Business presentation by David Henley, Superintendent of East <br />Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project. FY 01 EMMCP in Reading treated <br />492 acres FY02 budget covers treatment for 365 acres. <br />David presented issues around the development of the Project Reading <br />financial contributions and the response to nuisance species. <br />West Nile Virus - Culex mosquitoes - 5 mosquito species <br />
