Board of Health Meeting Minutes June 14, 2001 The meeting was called to order at 6:07 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts Chairman James J. Nugent, Colleen Henessey - Seferian, Nancy Carlson excused from meeting, staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator were present. The minutes of the May 10, 2001 were read. Colleen Seferian made a motion to accept the minutes as read. The motion was seconded by Nancy Carlson and approved -vote: 2:0:0. Next order of business: • Review of operating guidelines. . Guidelines signed • Board was updated on Mosquito control project and statewide tracking of west Nile Virus. Redaing is prepared to begin the stormdrain treatment with Altosid tablets in 25,000 storm drains the last two week of June. The drains near Timberneck swamp will not be treated. • Discussion regarding the closure and development of the landfill. Migration of and control methane gas and cover of the land life and process used burn - off with emergency gauges, fill clean and tested before and after for heavy metals, storm water will be addressed in the C AAA application to DEP to be filed in August. Letter of agreement form the BOH will be sent with the application. BOH will sign letter in June due to the cancellation of the July BOH meeting. • Discussion regarding waste management - Dumpster control as a BOH responsibility. BOH recommendations are to give warning then 2°d complaint issue $100 fine. Review of FY 02 budget and the potential cuts discussed. Board will review the increase of Sealer of Weights and Measures fees in the late Motion made to adjourn meeting at 7: 15 p.m. by Colleen Seferian and seconded by Jim Nugent vote 2:0:0. • Next meeting scheduled for August 9, 2001.
