Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, 16 <br /> Lowell Street,Reading, Massachusetts,by James J. Nugent, Jr., Chairman, Colleen <br /> Seferian, Vice Chairman, Barbara Meade, secretary and staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health <br /> Services Administrator were present. <br /> The minutes of February 13, 2003 were accepted as read 3:0:0. <br /> Next order of business: <br /> • The Board was informed of the change in clerical staff. The Board wished Sam Ok <br /> the best upon her return to California. The town will hire a temporary clerical position <br /> until April 8, election day. Then the complete decision will be made regarding the <br /> hiring of a full time clerk. <br /> • Discussion was brought up regarding the Tobacco program and the results of the <br /> Governors last cut. The Board was informed of the$1 million left in the budget for <br /> the 7 programs that are still vial and that CDC will match the funds. The program <br /> does always remain on the cutting block. <br /> • The landfill has been sold to Dickinson development. The BOH permits at this early <br /> - stage have been take out portable toilets and the review of pest management <br /> Construction begins at the sight March 14, 2003 That will be clearing and preparing <br /> the site from brush. <br /> • The Town Manager and Selectmen are pleased with the vote of the board regarding <br /> the mercury collection for the month of May. May 1 —through May 30 at the BOH <br /> office. <br /> Administrative Report <br /> • EMARC will be cut from the Health Division budget at$8,200 <br /> • The state will not be providing flu vaccine—this is the information given to us thus <br /> far. Letter to nursing homes and physicians have been sent regarding the potential of <br /> no flu vaccine. <br /> • We have received our PIN number to file with Medicare for reimbursement this fall. <br /> • Mosquito control if the override does not pass there will be no larvae or adult control <br /> done. The only control will be surveillance. . <br /> • Dumpster application and letters are prepared to be sent to business owners. <br /> Dumpster permit is attached to the building permit. <br /> • Grant awards: <br /> $5,000 Item pricing for the Sealer of Weights and Measures <br /> $1,320 Sun Protection grant from the DPH/MHOA <br />
