Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />May 13, 2004 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:05 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts, Chairman, Colleen Seferian. Member present <br />Barbara Meade, and David Singer staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator. <br />The minutes of the March 11, 2004 accepted as read. Minutes of April 10, 2004 tabled <br />for correction. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Bio-terrorism coalition update. $130,000 spending plan completed for State <br />Department of Public Health. Lap tops, cell phones, digital cameras, BT <br />preparedness bag, nurse preparedness bag, training funds, staff salary and an <br />agreement for 26 cents per population funds for each town. Readings portion $6,180. <br />Our funds will be used in conjunction with the fire department grant to purchase a <br />standby permanent generator for the senior center to turn the senior center into an <br />emergency shelter if and when necessary. Training funds include emergency <br />preparedness training in Denver for 3 members of coalition and weapons of mass <br />destruction in Haverhill for all members to attend. <br />• The well regulation discussed and voted 3:0:0 to change Section 8.2.2 and Section <br />8.3.2.1 Administrator will post and file with the Department of Environmental <br />• Family and Friends Day sponsored by Lions Club discussed. The Board of Health <br />will have no representation. Discussion regarding the possibility of Board member <br />manning the table. <br />Administrative Report: <br />• Cholesterol clinics functioning with 10-12 clients per clinic/month cost raised <br />to $10.00/test <br />• Certificate of Excellence for Food Establishments reviewed there will be no <br />Board signatures on certificates. <br />Certificates will be used beginning July 2004. <br />Mosquito control. DPW ready with pesticide licenses to drop Vectolex WSP <br />in storm drains. Town Meeting transferred $1700 from free cash to BOH <br />
