Reading Water Treatment Plant, Strout <br />Avenue, Reading, Massachusetts, Chairman, Colleen Seferian, Barbara Meade and David <br />Singer staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator. <br />The minutes of the June 10, 2004 accepted with amendments 3:0:0 and August 12, 2004 <br />minutes accepted as read 2:1:0 <br />Next order of business: <br />• Bio-terrorism coalition update. <br />• Discussion of Eastern Equine Encephalitis and Lyme disease information sheets <br />distributed. <br />• Update on public health nurse position. The position remains unfilled after 6 <br />interviews. <br />• The Board has been requested to send one member to the ad hoc committee to review <br />the need for a medical facility in Reading funded by the hospital trust fund. <br />• Administrative Report: <br />• Cholesterol clinics suspended for the summer months and until public health <br />} nurse hired. <br />• Blood Pressure clinics canceled since mid - August. These will not return until <br />nurse hired. <br />• Increase communicable disease investigation this summer up to 22 in 2.5 months <br />all different diagnosis and none related. <br />• Movement is Life photo contest letter of support for the newspaper distributed. <br />Applications for contest available at Town Hall and Library. Board invited to <br />Exhibit on October 14, 2004 at Reading Public Library. <br />Motion made to adjourn meeting at 6:30 p.m. <br />Water treatment tour began at 6:30 with Peter Tassi , Supervisor of water treatment plant. <br />The tour was very informative.
