MASS. <br /> October 21,2004 1004 CLEC -2 P 4. 4b <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:06 PM reading Town Hall, Berger Room, Reading, <br /> Massachusetts, Chairman, Colleen Seferian, Barbara Meade and David Singer staff <br /> liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator. <br /> The minutes of the September 9, 2004 were read and accepted. 3:0:0 <br /> Next order of business: <br /> • Discussion of Massachusetts Department of Public Health distribution of 24%of <br /> usual flu vaccine amounts for the state. The 150 doses the BOH purchased from <br /> Aventis has been delivered. The Question is following CDC guidelines how will <br /> this minimal amount of vaccine be utilized. Following a long discussion and <br /> review of the state and CDC guidelines the BOH voted to immunize homebound <br /> clients following the 2003 list. The visits will begin on Monday, October 25, <br /> 2004. DPH will be notified. <br /> • The health admin. Pointed out there will be a pneumonia and tetanus clinic in <br /> December or January. Hopefully when a PHN is hired. <br /> • Discussion regarding the Reading Memorial High School following the no <br /> smoking regulations of the Board of Health. The new principal and vice principal <br /> need to be sworn in as agents of the board to issue tickets. This will happen at the <br /> November 4,2004 Board of Health meeting. The High school is to turn in all old <br /> tickets before new ticket books will be issued. <br /> • Bio-terrorism coalition update. <br /> • Discussion of the end of mosquito control due the two nights of frost. No further <br /> turn in of dead crows or blue jays to the state lab for investigation. <br /> • Update on green Tomato restaurant closure. Board votes 3:0:0 not to remove sign <br /> from door until store has met requirements. <br /> • Colleen Seferian is a member of ad hoc committee to review the need for a <br /> medical facility in Reading funded by the hospital trust fund. <br /> Administrative Rebort: <br /> • Cholesterol clinics suspended for the summer months and until public health <br /> nurse hired. <br /> • Blood Pressure clinics canceled since mid-August to the present time. These <br /> will not return until nurse hired. <br /> • Increase communicable disease investigation this summer up to 32 in 4 months all <br /> different diagnosis and none related no disease clusters. <br /> • Update on Walkers Brook Crossing Development.-Jordan's looking to open on <br /> October 29, 2004 to the public. <br />
