Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />April 14, 2005 <br />i i.j <br />RK <br />11h <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, Reading, <br />Massachusetts, Chairman, Colleen Seferian, Barbara Meade and David Singer. Staff liaison <br />Jane Fiore, Health Services Administrator. <br />The minutes of the March 10, 2005 accepted as read 2:0:0 (1 excused) <br />Order of Business: <br />x 3 P tl* <br />• Public Health Nurse position filled. Patricia Faulkner, RN began work on April 5, 2005 <br />• Regular Board of Health meeting adjourned at 6:35 pm 3:0:0, in order to call to order <br />Public Hearing. <br />Public Hearing on Changes in Board of Health Fee schedule Section 22 called to order at <br />6:30 pm by Chairperson Colleen Seferian. <br />Barbara Meade: The Reading Board of Health moves to change the fee <br />schedule (as attached) for all fee and services offered and licensed by the Board <br />of Health. By code all those affected by the proposed change have been notified <br />by direct mail. This public hearing has been posted for two weeks <br />In the newspaper. The Board will accept all public input at the public hearing <br />either written or verbal. <br />• Health Administrator reported no written response was received by the <br />Health Division within the last fourteen days to 5 pm tonight April 14, 2005. <br />• Alfred Yan of Eastern Chinese restaurant was present he was asked by the <br />Chair, Colleen Seferian if there were any questions or concerns regarding the <br />fee changes. His response was no. He had come to the meeting to only hear <br />what was happening at the meeting and thought the change was okay. <br />• With no further public input. David Singer moved to close the public <br />hearing. Barbara Meade seconded the motion. 3:0:0 to close the public <br />hearing. <br />The Board of Health Meeting was called to order to reconvened at 7:00 pm. The <br />Chairperson, Colleen Seferian asked for further discussion by the Board. Discussion <br />was regarding the late fee of $25. Recommendation to keep daily fine was discussed <br />and voted to keep 3:0:0. The next discussion was regarding the cost of Tetanus <br />immunization from $10 to $5. Lengthy discuss occurred. David Singer moved to <br />change the proposed fee of $10/ tetanus immunization to $5. Barbara Meade seconded <br />vote = 3:0:0 the tetanus fee will be $5 / immunization. <br />Discussion regarding the effective date was voted to by July 1, 2005. The health <br />Administrator will file the new regulation with the Board of Selectmen, Town Clerk and <br />State Department of Public Health. All effected license applications will reflect the new <br />fees for 2006 (July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006). <br />
