Lea'''/ <br />e I w <br />d F, - <br />Board of inutes Meeting 0i A OF 2 ~ <br />June 9, 2005 <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on June 9, 2005 by Chairmen Colleen <br />Seferian at 6:07 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were <br />Barbara Meade, David Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />New Business: <br />• Minutes of April 14 and May 12, 2005 were accepted as read (vote3:0:0.) <br />• Re-organization of Board for FY2006 <br />o Chair/ Vice Chair - Colleen Seferian / Barbara Meade <br />o Secretary - David Singer <br />• Update of meeting schedule for 2005-2006 reviewed. Member list and email addresses <br />reviewed and corrected. <br />• Barbara Meade reported on the Logan Airport Fly Over Committee. She is a member in <br />absentia. The minutes and notification of any changes effecting Reading will be sent to <br />Barbara. <br />• Bio terrorism report - survey of RN's in Reading who are willing to assist during an <br />emergency were 110. Jane Fiore is planning a 2 hour training in the fall to show the <br />design of the emergency medication Dispensing Sites and Incident Command Structure <br />with the State Department of Public Health and Reading Fire department. <br />• Friend's and Family day on June25 is planned, the public Health nurse and Admin will <br />set up BOH booth with Colleen will man the booth from 9 am until 2 pm. <br />• Review of goals and objectives for the department was tabled for review at a later date. <br />East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project (EMMCP) update to the Board by the Project <br />Supervisor David Henley. <br />Highlights of the presentation: <br />• BOH /Health annual budget $23,292 for mosquito control services. This fee includes <br />helicopter spray in April of Bti, then trap surveillance, and if necessary adulticide truck <br />spray ( resmithrin) <br />• The Health Division treats the storm drains with larvacide (Vectolex WSP) twice a <br />season July and September. <br />• 20 Towns are part of this project. <br />• Each Town sends a health department representative to a quarterly meeting. There is <br />also an executive board from the twenty members (6) who meet monthly. <br />• Reading has been a member of the project for the since 1983. <br />
