I '"J U <br />CLERK <br />Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />August 11, 2005 <br />('F D c} <br />Lu5 3i. 13 r.''1. 8* 3 <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on August 11, 2005 by Chairmen Colleen <br />Seferian at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were <br />Barbara Meade, David Singer and staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />Business: <br />• Minutes of June 9, 2005 were accepted as read (vote3:0:0.) <br />• Barbara Meade reported on the Logan Airport Fly Over Committee. She is a member in <br />absentia. The minutes and notification of any changes effecting Reading. There have <br />been no scheduled meetings for the LAFOC in July and August. <br />• Tobacco youth sale compliance check update. 26 tobacco vendors were all part of the <br />third quarter check on sale to minors by the Tobacco Coalition Coordinator, Ron <br />Beauregard. The results were 4 sales. The Shell station second offense in one calendar <br />year. Fine $200. The owner must document retraining of staff. The other three <br />establishments have sold in previous years. The fine remains at $100. The <br />recommendation to the BOH is to amend regulations to enforce all sales of tobacco <br />products to be identified as Federal Code regulates at age 27 years. The Tobacco <br />Coordinator will come to any fall BOH meeting requested of him for further discussion. <br />The BOH has voted 3:0:0 to list results of tobacco sale to minors in the local news <br />paper. <br />• Mosquito species identification and mosquito total count for all 5 traps discussed. The <br />BOH recommend to continuing the use operation principals designed by State <br />Department of Public Health - epidemiologist for the decisions to adulticide. <br />• Review of 2006 goals and objectives for the Board and Division was tabled to review at <br />a later date. <br />Septic Case review before the Board regarding 113 Longwood Road: <br />The Board accepted the written request from Timothy and Barbara Leary, 113 Longwood <br />Road owners of record to review the Septic Order Letter 310 CMR 15.000 received by the <br />Leary's on June 22, 2005 as a result of an abutter's complaint and Health Division Title 5 <br />inspection by the administrator on June 21, 2005. <br />Following introduction the chairman, Colleen Seferian ask the Leary's for what reason they had <br />come to the Board. <br />Mr. Leary discussed the inspection his response to the orders excluding the order to connect to <br />Town Sewer by December 1, 2005. <br />
