il- <br />Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />March 15, 2007 <br />[ti-.UE1VED <br />TG iN CLER1 <br />RED D1 NG, MA" <br />2001 JUL - 3 P <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on March 15, 2007 by Chairmen Barbara <br />Meade at 6:02 pm at the Town Hall, Berger Room. Those present at the meeting were <br />Colleen Seferian and David Singer with staff liaison Jane Fiore. <br />Business: <br />• Minutes of February 8, 2007 were accepted as read 3:0:0. <br />Next order of Business. <br />Companion Kennels <br />• Companion kennel inspection standards tabled 3:0:0 to a later date. Public Hearing <br />scheduled for April 12, 2007 at 6:30 pm all 4 plus dog owners will be notified. <br />Septic Issues: <br />• Case discussion on procedure and response regarding 29 Beacon Street septic <br />abandonment delay until September 2007. The new owner has connected to town <br />sewer and is renovating the property. The owners will occupy the house in <br />September 2007. This is a 4 -6 month delay of abandonment as noted in 310 CMR <br />15.00. Vote by BOH 3:0:0. <br />113 Longwood Road cesspool and overflow tank pumping schedule discussed. <br />Health Administrator is to send order letter to homeowner ordering a complete title <br />5 inspection. BOH vote 3:0:0. <br />Massachusetts State Board of Plumbing. <br />• 143 Forest Street requests letter from BOH addressed to Plumbing Board stating no <br />noted public health issues or concerns regarding a shower stall in a private home. <br />The Reading Plumbing inspector sent a letter to the BOH stating his concerns that <br />the shower does not meet Massachusetts standards according to the state. <br />o Homeowner presented photos and cut sheets of the stall manufactured in <br />Canada. The surface, flow rate and hot water plumbing connections were <br />issues the BOH brought forward to the architect. The discussion was <br />extensive. David Singer made a motion to send a letter to the Plumbing <br />Board stating there exists no public health issues regarding the use of the <br />shower stall. The motion was seconded and passed 3:0:0. <br />o The Health Administrator will send a letter to the 143 Forest Street <br />addressed to the Massachusetts Board of Plumbing Inspectors regarding the <br />Reading Board of Health Decision. <br />
