BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING TOWN RECEIVED <br />MINUTES CLERK <br />RxDI NG, MASS. <br />April 15, 2008 <br />The Board of Health meeting was called to order on April 15,48 M5 y 22 <br />Chairman Barbara Meade at the Berger Room, Town Hall. Those present at the meeting <br />were Barbara Meade Chair, Colleen Seferian, and Dr. David Singer. <br />In attendance: Larry Ramdin, Staff Liaison/ Health Services Administrator. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Minutes March 13, 2008 were read and approved 3:0:0 <br />NEXT ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />YMCA Splash pad <br />Kathleen Walsh from the YMCA informed the Board of plans by the YMCA to install a <br />splash-pad at the YMCA, in the current patio area outside the swimming pool. The water <br />will be re-circulated, hence the designation of the pad as a special purpose pool. <br />The pool will be compliant with the Massachusetts Swimming Pool Code 105CMR 435. <br />The application to install the splash pad was approved pending final approval by the <br />Health Division after submission of application plans, supporting documents and required <br />fees. 3;0:0 <br />Appointment of Health Inspector as an Agent of the Board of Health <br />- The Board of Health voted to appoint any Health Inspector hired by the Town of Reading <br />and employed in the Reading Health Division as an Agent of the Board of Health. 3:0:0 <br />Part time Health Inspector <br />The Board was advised that Casey Mellin, RS was hired as a part time Health Inspector, <br />Casey is aRegistered Sanitarian, and is employed as a full-time health inspector in <br />Woburn. Casey Mellin will be presented to the Board for introduction to the Board and <br />confirmation of his appointment. <br />Mosquito control <br />The mosquito control project will be applying BT to the swamps in the upcoming week. <br />In, June we will be treating the catch basins for larvae and we were also advised that the <br />number mosquito-borne illnesses is expected to be mild based on previous cycles. <br />Venetian Moon <br />Venetian Moon restaurant has applied to increase the occupancy, the increase is limited <br />to the waiting area, we have advised that no food service will be permitted in the waiting <br />area as that would exceed the supplied seating information and any additional seating will <br />require a full plan review of the facility. <br />
