r~ :IVD <br />Reading Cultural Council TOWN CLERK <br />January 8, 2008 READING, MASS. <br />1'~o3 ju - A 10,- 4 3 s <br />MEETING CALLED TO ORDER - 7:05 pm <br />MEMBERS PRESENT - Liz Whitelam, Anne Hooker, Lorraine Horn, Patrick Holland, Vicky <br />Schubert <br />Without a quorum present, there was no distribution of minutes or formal treasurer's report. <br />GENERAL DISCUSSION <br />LW shared the following updates: <br />- Grant rejection notifications have been sent; grant approval notices are scheduled to go <br />out tomorrow (in accordance with the required waiting period) <br />- LW appeared before the Board of Selectmen to report on the status of RCC activities <br />- RCC meetings through April 1 have been posted at Town Hall. <br />- Advertisement for new council members was carried in Community Connection <br />- The town website now has the capability to host online surveys; so we may want to <br />consider using this medium for our community input survey; it was suggested that we <br />continue discussion of this item at the next meeting. <br />GOLD STAR PROJECT <br />It was discussed and agreed that Kathy Kelly would try to get some first hand feedback about the <br />Ruby Bridges performance to see if it would be appropriate to nominate it as a Gold Star project. <br />LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE <br />It was discussed and agreed that it would not be useful to participate in the Library Open House <br />this year (scheduled for March 1). <br />GRANT RECIPIENTS' RECEPTION <br />It was discussed and agreed that it would be worthwhile to host a grant recipients' reception again <br />this year. It was suggested that it be scheduled in conjunction with our April I meeting. LH <br />volunteered to coordinate. AH will inquire with Police Department on possibility of eating in the <br />community room. It was agreed that it shouldn't be scheduled at a time that conflicted with the <br />Selectmen's meeting. <br />The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:35 <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Vicky Schubert <br />
