- - Council on Aging Board Meeting - <br />Monday, March 13, 2006 <br />Reading Senior Center <br />Arts and Crafts Room <br />RECEIVED <br />TOVVN CLERK <br />READ! ~t r!ASS. <br />S <br />Dick Anderson, Chairman, opened the meeting at 6:35 pm. Present we`Be y Cronin, 8: 1, <br />Barbara Powers, Carole Scrima, Carol Patterson, Edwina Kasper, Marguerite Bosnian, <br />associate member and Dawn Folopoulos, Administrator. Absent: Stacey Bertocchi, <br />Sally Hoyt, Ruth Goldberg, and Dottye Foxon. <br />February minutes accepted. Motion by Betty, 2nd by Carol. <br />Administrator's Report: accepted <br />Motion wa's made to approve the purchase of 10 binders and dividers the purchase price <br />of $55.66 to come out of the Burbank fund. Motion made by Carol Patterson, 2nd by <br />Carole Scrima. Passed unanimously. <br />Annual report was reviewed <br />Dawn explained that the Consultant's Report suggests the Senior Center Coordinator, in <br />addition to the current duties, take on the responsibility of coordinating the volunteers. <br />This could possibly put the Coordinator of Volunteers position (currently 21/week) in <br />jeopardy. The COA suggested that Dawn keep a record of the COV many duties and their <br />importance to the seniors. <br />A motion was made to eliminate meetings in July and August, 2006. e Motion made by <br />Carole, 2"d by Betty. Vote - unanimous <br />Ideas for a booth at the 3rd Annual Town Day on June 17 were discussed. A more upbeat <br />look and hand-outs were suggested. Plastic bags with the COA logo on it, filled with <br />pamphlets, information, give-aways etc. The idea of a Reading crossword puzzle was <br />met with great enthusiasm. <br />Many of the shutters in the Arts & Crafts Room, the computer Room and the lounge are <br />in need of replacement. Dawn needs ideas on replacements options. <br />A motion was made to purchase a digital camera and accessories to be used to take <br />pictures at the Senior Center. Estimated expenditure is $315.00 from the Burbank Fund. <br />Motion made by Carol Patterson, 2pd by Carole Scrima. Passed unanimously. <br />March Pleasantries is first issue printed by Senior Citizen's Publishing, Inc. A requested <br />change to the format was that board members want their names listed on the front page. <br />This month's ink was green. The color of the ink is chosen by the publisher and is usually <br />based on that month's holidays. <br />
