<br />Tl Ca <br />Council on Aging Board Meeting <br />Monday, April 14, 2006 <br />Reading Senior Center <br />Arts and Crafts Room <br />Dick Anderson, Chairman, opened the meeting at 6:35pm. <br />Present were: Betty Cronin, Barbara Powers, Carole Scrima, Carol Patterson, Stacey <br />Bertocchi, Sally Hoyt, Ruth Goldberg, and Dottye Foxon. Marguerite Bosnian, associate <br />member and Dawn Folopoulos, Administrator. Absent: Edwina Kasper. <br />March minutes accepted. Motion by Carol Patterson, 2" d by Carole Scrims <br />Administrator's Report: accepted - Motion by Betty, 2nd by Ruth <br />Dawn noted new category - clients benefiting from volunteers <br />Discussion of volunteer hours - should outside volunteer work by the board members <br />count, such as serving on committees concerning elderly, etc.? Dawn is looking into it. <br />Financial Report <br />Dawn noted change in status report for the Burbank & Schroeder Funds <br />A request for $49 from the Burbank Trust Account for the purchase of jellybeans and a <br />gift card for contest at Senior Center was made. Motion to accept by Carol P, 2nd by <br />Stacey <br />New window treatment were discussed for the upstairs of the Senior Center. A proposal <br />for the purchase and installation for ten windows to be fitted with wooden blinds was <br />submitted. Motion made to approve the spending of up to $3,000.00 from the Burbank <br />Fund by Dottye, 2nd by Sally. <br />The board was assured the Center will still have the same number of parking spots as we <br />now have after construction of the affordable housing next door. During construction we <br />may have to give up a few spots. <br />New Business <br />The idea of having a Reading Crossword Puzzle for Town Day was approved. <br />Dawn passed out the File of Life to board members. They are to be filled in with <br />information about medications and left on refrigerator in case of medical emergency. <br />Motion to adjourn at 7:55 made by Betty, 2nd by Carol Scrima. The board worked on <br />Dawn's evaluation until 8:30 p.m. <br />Next meeting Monday, May 8, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted: <br />Barbara A. Powers <br />
