Council on Aging Board Meeting <br />Monday, June 12, 2006 <br />Reading Senior Center ,CC lVED <br /> <br />fl,li°t1 CLERK <br />Dick Anderson, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present were: Carole SAS, M ASS <br />Patterson, Edwina Kasper, Stacey Bertocchi, Sally Hoyt, Ruth Goldberg, Dottye Foxon, Barbara Powers, <br />Ruth Goldberg and Dawn Folopoulos, Administrator. Absent: Betty Cronin and Associate 499tKV 30 A g. 52 <br />Marguerite Bosnian. <br />Dawn passed around a Get.Well card for everyone to sign, for Betty Cronin who was in the hospital. <br />One correction to May minutes. Edwina Kasper was omitted from the list of members present. May minutes <br />accepted, with correction, with a motion made by Carole Scrima, 2nd by Edwina. <br />Administrator's report accepted with a motion made by Carol Patterson, 2nd by Dottye. <br />Arrangements for manning the COA booth for Family and Friends Day on Saturday, June 17 were <br />discussed. The volunteers confirmed their times. <br />Financial Report <br />The instructor for the BEST exercise program has requested a guarantee of $40 per class per week. Some <br />weeks her fees have been sufficient to cover this amount or more, but when attendance is low she does not <br />make it. She will request an increase from her participants and Dawn is asking if the COA could supplement <br />the balance. <br />Motion made to supplement the BEST program for a 6-month trial period (July -December, 2006) <br />from the Burbank Trust Fund. Motion to accept by Dick, 2"d by Ruth - passed unanimously. <br />Election of officers was held. Dick nominated Carol Patterson for Chairman, Carole Scrima for <br />Vice Chairman, and Stacey Bertocchi for Secretary. Sally 2nd motion: Officers voted in <br />unanimously by the board. <br />Secretary moved to accept slate of officers as nominated. Unanimously accepted. <br />Election of officers is held every year. Officers can hold office no more than two years in same <br />office. <br />Dawn will serve on the Mystic Valley Elder Services Board of Directors, to replace Dick Anderson. <br />Motion made by Dottye, 2°d by Carol. <br />Dottye Foxon announced her resignation from the Mystic Valley Elder Services Advisory <br />Committee. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:18 by motion made by Ruth, 2nd by Carole. <br />Have a nice summer.
