K"IFIVED <br />R 'LERI~ <br />Council on Aging Board Meeting <br />Monday, October 15, 2007 f<< q2: <br />Reading Senior Center-Game Room b, t <br />Present: Carol Patterson, Carol Scrima, Stacey Bertocchi, Barbara Powers, Margaret Havey, <br />Ruth Goldberg, Edwina Kasper, Marguerite Bosnian, Steve Oston, Dawn Folopoulos (staff), and <br />Charlie McDonald (associate member). <br />Excused: Sally Hoyt <br />6:35 Meeting called to order. <br />Administrator's Report approved and accepted. <br />New Nurse Advocate, Diane Luther, is most interested in assisted frail seniors who lack social <br />supports like family or close friends. <br />Financial Report approved and accepted. <br />The Administrator presented a memorandum to the COA, which requests $250.00 from the <br />Burbank Trust Fund to provide entertainment at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Reception. <br />Ruth made a motion that the COA authorize the funding from the Burbank Trust of $250.00 <br />2nd by Barbara. <br />Old Business <br />Reminder COA members are invited to the Halloween Party at the Senior Center from 3-5 on <br />October 30, 2007. <br />New Business <br />Updated list of board members for COA FY08 distributed. <br />Discussion about the delivery of holiday meals. The Schroeder Fund pays for 30 meals for <br />Thanksgiving and 30 meals for Christmas. The Administrator recorded those willing to volunteer <br />to pick up the meals from Boston Market and make the deliveries to seniors for the holidays. <br />Steve suggested Elder Services investigate which local stores offer senior discounts and make a <br />list available for our seniors. Barbara will bring a list of senior discounts that the Wakefield <br />Senior Center offers their residents. <br />September 10, 2007 Minutes accepted as written. <br />The enlargement of the photo with the double rainbow over the Senior Center was presented and <br />accepted. <br />Motion to Adjourn 7:45 <br />Respectfully submitted, Stacey Bertocchi <br />
