Council on Aging Board Meeting RECEIVED <br />TOWN CLERK <br />E"' I 'IWI S, ASS. <br />RML) <br />Monday, September 22, 2008 <br />Reading Senior Center Game Room 2000 DEC b P 131 <br />Present: Stacey Bertocchi, Sally Hoyt, Steve Oston, Carol Patterson, Carole <br />Scrima, Barbara Powers, Marguerite Bosnian, Margaret Havey, Dawn <br />Folopoulos (Staff), Carol Oniskey (Guest). <br />Absent: George Lonergan. <br />Call to Order: 6:30 PM. <br />Minutes: approved and accepted for 9 June 2008. <br />Administrator's Report: approved and accepted for June, July and August. <br />Financial Report: approved and accepted for August 2008 <br />• Staff requested additional funding from the Burbank Trust Fund in the <br />amount of $1,295 to purchase a used pool table for the senior center <br />that will replace one extensively worn and water damaged. Motion <br />approved by a vote of 8-0. <br />• Staff also requested additional funding from the Burbank Trust Fund <br />in the amount of $150 to provide a guest speaker--Roberta. Taylor--for <br />a presentation titled "Creating the Next Chapter of Your Life." This <br />presentation is aimed at attracting Baby Boomer aged residents and is <br />scheduled for 21 October at the Aroma Cafe. Motion approved by a <br />vote of 8-0. <br />• Staff requested transfer of costs from the Schroeder Trust Fund back <br />to the Burbank Trust Fund for expenses related to the celebration of <br />birthdays for senior residents. Increased costs of this activity now <br />compromise the $1,000 yearly spending limit of the Schroeder Fund. <br />Motion approved by a vote of 8-0. <br />
