CPDC Minutes of 12/14/2009 <br />There was some discussion as to whether adding letters to the fringe was allowed or appropriate. It <br />was noted that other awning signs also make use the fringe. The consensus was the entire sign was <br />allowed and of an appropriate design. <br />DT moved the Board approve the issuance of a Signage Certificate of Appropriateness for the awning <br />sign for "V Nails & Spa" at 603 Main Street with the condition that the non-regulation-size neon <br />window sign would be removed. <br />JW seconded and the motion was carried 3:0:0. <br />Other Business <br />Minutes <br />The Board voted 3:0:0 to approve the minutes of September 28, 2009 as amended. <br />The Board voted 3:0:0 to approve the minutes.of October 19, 2009 as amended. <br />The Board voted 3:0:0 to approve the minutes of October 26, 2009 as amended. <br />Update on 345 Main Street, Reading Plaza <br />The Town Planner reported that at least one of the LED light's top shielding was missing and the <br />light source was visible to passersby. The site's owner is aware of the situation and the owner's <br />contractor is supposed to contact her about it soon. <br />NS noted the LEDs are still too bright and wash out any desired shadow effects. <br />Update on nonconformity language in Zoning Bylaw (Section 6.3) <br />The Town Planner reported that the Town Manager had asked Town Counsel to review the entire <br />section of the zoning bylaws concerning nonconformities (Section 6.3: Nonconforming Uses, <br />Structures and Lots) with an eye towards crafting clearer language. <br />Update on 285 Main Street, proposed location for Perfecto's Caffe <br />The Board reminded the Town Planner that the owner had agreed to the Board's request to replace <br />the chain-link fence along Woburn Street with a vinyl fence to screen the vacant lot from view. The <br />Board asked the Town Planner to remind the owner that the vinyl fence has not yet been constructed. <br />The Town Planner said she would contact the owner. <br />Update on Economic Development Committee's (EDC) review of the Signage Bylaws <br />The Town Planner reported that the EDC should have something for the Board to consider in time for <br />the Board's meeting of 1/11/2010. <br />JW moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded and carried 3:0:0.
