Town of Reading Board of Cemetery Trustees Tuesday, March 8, 1994 Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of March 8 , 1994 convened at 7 : 30 P.M. in the Berger Conference Room, Reading Town Hall. Present: John Silvaggi, Chairman Daniel F. Driscoll, Secretary Carl H. Amon, Jr. Edward F. Fuller Director Robert Keating of the Cemetery Division was also present. 1. Secretary's Report On a motion by Mr. Fuller, seconded by Mr. Amon, it was unani- mously voted to accept the Secretary's minutes of the January 10, 1994 Trustees meeting. 2 . Personnel Director Keating reported that Crewmaster John Whalen had retired effective January 31, 1994 . Bill Jordan was appointed Crewmaster and will be on a six month probationary period. 3 . Franklin Street Cemetery Update Director Keating advised that a developer of a parcel of land abutting the Cemetery has proposed to the Town Manager a gift of approximately one-half acre of land in exchange for approximately 5, 000 square feet of Cemetery property fronting on Franklin Street. This one-half acre would allow an access road beside an existing house so that four house lots to the rear could be developed. This would also provide a second entrance to the Cemetery. Mr. Keating furnished the Trustees with a drawing out- lining the proposed access roads, with the four house lots and the one-half acre which would be given to the Town. The Trustees agreed that this would be in the best interest of the Town, both in increased acreage to the Cemetery and a second entrance. This matter will be presented as Article 20 at the next Town Meeting 4 . Finance Committee Meeting The meeting is scheduled for March 14, 1994 . Chairman Silvaggi requested the attendance of the Trustees if their schedules per- mit. 5. Receipts Director Keating furnished the Trustees with copies of the receipts from Sales of Lots and Miscellaneous charges for July ,� through February 28, 1994 .
