Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, October 4, 1994 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of October 4, <br />1994 convened at 7:30 P.M. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Read- <br />ing Town Hall. <br />Present: John Silvaggi, Chairman <br />Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman <br />Daniel F. Driscoll, Secretary <br />Mary Vincent <br />Robert Keating, Supervisor of the Reading Cemeteries and Edward <br />Fuller, former Trustee, were also present. <br />1. Damaged Marker - Charles Lawn <br />A Mr. & Mrs. Silva appeared before the Trustees concerning a <br />family marker (Ceruolo) which has a small chip in the lower left <br />corner. Supervisor Keating inspected this marker in the presence <br />of Mr. Silva and explained that it could not have been caused by <br />a mowing machine. On a later inspection Mr. Keating observed a <br />new chip on the face of the marker. He feels strongly that the <br />damage was not caused by Cemetery personnel. Chairman Silvaggi <br />advised the Silva's that the requlations state that the Cemetery <br />is not responsible for any damage to markers or ornaments. The <br />Silva's requested full or partial reimbursement for a new marker. <br />Mr. Silvaggi advised the Silva's that the matter would be taken <br />under advisement. <br />After a further discussion on a motion by Mr. Silvaggi, seconded <br />by Ms. Vincent, it was unanimoulsy voted to have Supervisor Keat- <br />ing inform the Silva's that the Board would waive the installa- <br />tion fee if they decide to purchase a new marker. <br />2. Secretary's Report <br />On a motion by Ms. Vincent, seconded by Ms. Miller, it was unani- <br />mously voted to accept the Secretary's minutes of the September <br />14, 1994 Trustees meeting. <br />3. Budget - FY96 <br />Supervisor Keating discussed the FY 96 Budget of $213,172 which <br />included Bequest Fund of $82,000, Fees - $112,972, Sale of Lots - <br />$15,000, General Fund - $3200. On a motion by Ms. Miller, <br />seconded by Mr. Driscoll, it was unanimously voted to approve the <br />Budget as submitted by Mr. Keating. <br />4. Receipts <br />Mr. Keating Furnished the Trustees with copies of the receipts <br />from Sale of Lots and Miscellaneous charges for July, 1994 <br />through September 30, 1994. <br />
