TOWN OF READING <br />BOARD OF CEMETERY TRUSTEES <br />WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 1994 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of Novem- <br />ber 9, 1994 convened at 7:30 PM in the Selectmens Meeting Room, <br />Reading Town Hall. <br />Present: John Silvaggi, Chairman <br />Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman <br />Daniel F Driscoll, Secretary <br />Edward F Fuller <br />Mary Vincent <br />Robert Keating, Supervisor of the Reading Cemeteries was <br />also present. <br />Note: Mr Edward F Fuller was appointed to serve the late <br />Carl H Amon's term. <br />1. Cemetery Naming Hearing <br />In response to a notice of a Public Hearing to name the <br />Franklin St. Cemetery, several letters were received by Super- <br />visor Keating. In addition interested citizens attended the <br />meeting. Wood End suggested by attendees Mary Hatfield and Jen- <br />nifer Boisvert was the name recommended by the majority of the <br />letter writers. This name was first brought to the attention of <br />the Trustees by Mrs Miller along with the historical background <br />of the section called Wood End in the early history of Reading. <br />On a motion by Mr Fuller, seconded by Mr Driscoll, it was <br />unanimously voted to name the new cemetery - Wood End Cemetery. <br />Supervisor Keating was directed to have a sign made up and <br />posted on the Franklin Street location. <br />2. Secretary Minutes <br />On a motion by Ms Vincent, <br />unanimously voted to accept the <br />tober 4, 1994 Trustees meeting. <br />3. Carl H Amon Street Sian <br />seconded by Mr Silvaggi, it was <br />Secretary's Minutes of the Oc- <br />Supervisor Keating presented a drawing of a proposed granite <br />post measuring 11X611X6' which would be engraved, Carl H Amon Way. <br />The cost not to exceed $ 500.00. Mr Keating was requested to ob- <br />tain samples of different types of lettering for a final Trustee <br />decision. <br />
