Town of Reading
Board of Cemetery Trustees
Tuesday, September 19, 1995
Pursuant to a meeting legally posted the meeting of September 19, 1995 convened at 6:30 P.M. in
the Arnold Berger Meeting Room, Reading Town Hall.
Present: Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman
Mary Vincent, Secretary
Daniel F. Driscoll
James Chisholm
Randolph Harrison
Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries.
Peter Hechenbleikner, Town Manager.
Beth Klepeis, Town Treasurer
Camille Anthony - Selectman
In the absence of Chairman John Silvaggi, Joyce Miller opened the meeting. She reported that
John Silvaggi is recuperating well from surgery.
Wood End Financing Plan Discussion
Peter Hechenbleikner stated that development of Wood End had been included in the Capital
Funding 10 year plan for 1997. With the plan presented it is feasable to do development now. A
small portion of Wood End land still needs clear title. It is in Land Court as of this date
(9-19-95). For the Cemetery bonding Peter Hechenbleikner, Beth Klepeis and Robert Keating
presented the Proposal for Funding Wood End Cemetery Development and Reading Cemetery
Revenue and Payments to the Town to the Board for discussion. It was agreed Sale of Lots
would be much improved by having the development of site all done at one time.
Monuments lots will be available. There will be Veteran's section. It was noted that no lots are
available in Laurel Hill and Forest Glen. Lots at Charles Lawn seem to be selling on an "as
needed" basis. It was felt by the Board that Wood End will generate pre-need sales.
Presentation of the funding guidelines will be presented to the Board of Selectmen, the Finance
Committee and Town Meeting.
Secretary Minutes
On a motion by Randolph Harrison, seconded by James Sullivan, it was unanimously voted to
accept the minutes of the July 5, 1995 Trustees Meeting,
