Town of Reading Board of Cemetery Trustees Tuesday, February 6, 1996 Pursuant to a meeting legally posted the meeting of February 6, 1996 convened at 7:30 P.M. in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA. Present: John M. Silvaggi, Chairman Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman Mary Vincent, Secretary Daniel F. Driscoll Randolph Harrison Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. Steven Lowe, a guest who may be interested in serving on the Board also attended. Secretary Minutes On a motion by Randolph Harrison, seconded by Daniel Driscoll, it was unanimously voted to accept the Secretary's minutes of the January 10, 1996 Meeting. Old Business The Secretary was instructed to write a note thanking James Sullivan for his years of service as a Trustee. Wood End Update Superintendent Keating showed the Board the proposed specifications for the stone wall as prepared by BSC. Discussion followed on the type of stone to be used: fractured rock or field stone. The wall, depending on the type of stone used, will cost between $35,000.00 and $50,000.00. The cap for the wall is in the $10,000.00 to $15,000.00 range. Sidewalk will front the wall, The Cemetery sign could be bronze or granite. On the Parson Lane side of the property there is a 5 foot opening where the stone wall would have ended. After discussion, the Board voted unanimously to close this gap and extend the wall closer to the Parson Lane property line. Joyce Miller has had inquiries from citizens on what type of wall will be built. Budget On the Budget Summary (Form A) dated January 31, 1996, two figures are incorrect due to a typographical error. The Budget Income should be $88,108.00 and the Sale of Lots should be $22,000.00. The Cemetery Budget review by the Board of Selectmen is scheduled for Monday, February 12, 1996 - the review for Finance Committee is scheduled for February 21, 1996.
