Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, June 4, 1996 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted the meeting of June 4, 1996, 1996 convened at 7:30 P.M. in <br />the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA. <br />Present: John M. Silvaggi, Chairman <br />Joyce Miller, Vice Chairman <br />May Vincent, Secretary <br />Daniel F. Driscoll <br />Robert Keating, `Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. Also Ronald O'Connell, <br />and William Brown candidates for the Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes <br />On a motion by Daniel Driscoll, seconded by Joyce Miller, the minutes were accepted <br />unanimously. <br />Joyce Miller <br />As this was Joyce Miller's last meeting after serving on the Board for over 15 years, John Silvaggi <br />thanked her on behalf of the Trustees for all her work through the years. Joyce shared some of <br />her memories of her many years of service. <br />Review of Memorial Day <br />Superintendent Keating said there were compliments and few complaints on the appearance of the <br />cemeteries. He mentioned the excellent job Frank Driscoll had done on the flags and markers for <br />deceased veterans and firefighters. <br />Wood End <br />Work is ongoing: Leaching pits and catch basins, roadways being graded, wall work will start in <br />two weeks. There is a tree hearing tomorrow (6/15/96). The lawn will be put in using compost <br />and loam from Strout Ave. refuse pile. <br />Receipts <br />65 burials - about the same as last year at this time. <br />
