Town of Reading L­jl <br /> Board of Cemetery Trustees <br /> 0 <br /> Tuesday, October 1, 1996 "t, J <br /> Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of October 1 1996 convened at 7:30 P.M. in the <br /> Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA. <br /> Present: Daniel F. Driscoll, Chairman <br /> Mary Vincent, Secretary <br /> Randolph Harrison <br /> William Brown <br /> Ronald O'Connell <br /> John Silvag-i <br /> I <br /> Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. <br /> Review of Past Meeting <br /> —Minutes <br /> On a motion by Randolph Harrison, seconded by John Silva-119i, the minutes were accepted <br /> unanimously. <br /> Wood End Update <br /> Superintendent Keating reported that the fine grading of loam has been done. The first seeding <br /> was washed away by torrential rains. The area has been re-seeded with no labor costs. Forty(40) <br /> yards of loam has been spread. Work has begun on the back portion of the area. Superintendent <br /> C, <br /> Keating will be meeting with the Engineer on lot layouts. Curbing work will be started in <br /> October. Inquiries on lots have already been received. The Trustees and Superintendent Keating <br /> felt that a report on work-in-progress should go to the Suburban News and Reading Chronicle. <br /> Using a Columbarium for the entrance to the Cemetery was discussed at great length by the <br /> Trustees. Superintendent Keating will check with Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner on a sign <br /> posting the Cemetery against golf,olf, etc. <br /> I n Z= <br /> Receipts <br /> Receipts are ahead of last year. Budget work will begin next month. Review of lot prices will <br /> also be done. <br /> New Business <br /> The Trustees will review the Cemetery Rules and Regulations booklet before the next meeting. <br /> The Trustees also discussed how new regulations regarding, private burials without an undertaker <br /> I I <br /> might impact Reading. Superintendent Keating felt that there is little impact at the present time. <br /> ID <br />
