Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, January 6, 1998 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of January 6, 1998 convened at 6:00 <br />P.M. in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867 <br />Present: Daniel F. Driscoll, Chairman <br />John Silvaggi, Vice-Chairman <br />Mary Vincent, Secretary <br />William Brown <br />Roc O'Connell <br />Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes <br />The minutes were accepted on a motion by William Brown, seconded by Roc O'Connell. <br />Woodend Update <br />Sales are on-going at Wood End. there have been four burials as of this date. More <br />drainage work will be started in the Spring. There is need for a light for the flag pole at <br />Wood End. The Reading Municipal Light Department is looking into this and would <br />bear the cost for installing the lighting. <br />New Business <br />The budget which will go to the Finance Committee was reviewed by the Trustees. <br />The Trustees reviewed the policy of Veterans interments. In Charles Lawn and Wood <br />End in the Veteran's sections the lot must be paid for, but the interment fee is waived. <br />(The opposite is true at Forest Glen.) <br />Receipts <br />Sale of lots are up at Charles Lawn as well as pre-need sales at Wood End. Several <br />people had inquired about transfers from Charles Lawn to Wood End, but none has <br />transpired. <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:55 P.M.
