Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, April 7, 1998 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of April 7, 1998 convened at 6:00 P.M. <br />in the Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867 <br />Present: John Silvaggi, Vice-Chairman <br />Mary Vincent, Secretary <br />William Brown <br />Roc O'Connell <br />Randolph Harrison <br />Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. <br />In the absence of Daniel Driscoll, the meeting was chaired by John Silvaggi, Vice- <br />Chairman. <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes <br />The minutes were accepted as amended on a motion by William Brown, seconded by <br />Randolph Harrison. <br />Review of Parks/Forestrv and Cemeterv Division Consolidation <br />Dan Driscoll and John Silvaggi met with Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner to make <br />sure that consolidation will not affect Superintendent Keating adversely. (See minutes <br />from March 4, 1998 meeting.) There will be a six month trial period during which no job <br />positions will be eliminated. Superintendent Keating has formally applied for this <br />position as of this week (April 6, 1998). <br />Trustees Up for Term Renewal <br />Daniel Driscoll and Randolph Harrison's terms are up for re-nomination this year. <br />Randolph Harrison is interested in serving another term. <br />Wood End Update <br />The engineering phase of Wood End has been completed. Superintendent Keating has a <br />meeting with the Conservation Commission on April 15, 1998 relative to the completion <br />of the rear portion of the Cemetery. Cherry trees have been planted. There has not been <br />a reoccurrence of the deer problem as of this date. <br />Receipts <br />Charles Lawn receipts are up. Wood End is showing steady sales. <br />
