/c/// <br />Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, January 5, 1999 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of January 5, 1999 convened at 6:00 P.M. in the <br />Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867 <br />Present: Daniel Driscoll, Chairman <br />John Siivaggi, Vice-Chairman <br />Mary Vincent, Secretary <br />Roc O'Connell <br />William Brown <br />Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. Florence Sorenson, who <br />may be interested in becoming a trustee, was also in attendance. <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes <br />On a motion by William Brown, seconded by Roc O'Connell, the minutes were accepted. <br />Wood End Update <br />Superintendent Keating reported that Wood End's lawns, roads, and sprinkler system are all in <br />place. Finish work will be done in the Spring. <br />Receipt <br />Trustees reviewed receipts. Superintendent Keating reported there had been 22 burials in <br />December 1998. <br />New Business <br />Superintendent Keating reported that all Cemeteries had received fertilization from the MWRA <br />program which is free. Forest Glen will receive compost to enrich the soil, which is wearing thin <br />after 75 years. The Town has a spreader and this will be done in-house. A four wheel drive diesel <br />dump truck has replaced an older truck in the Cemetery fleet of vehicles. Superintendent Keating <br />spoke of the difficulty of hiring good seasonal employees for the Department. <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
