Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, June 1, 1999 j. 12 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of June 1, 1999 convened at 6:15 P.M. in the <br />Berger Room, Reading Town Hall Annex, Reading, MA 01867 <br />Present: Daniel Driscoll, Chairman <br />John Silvaggi, Vice-Chairman <br />Mary Vincent, Secretary <br />William Brown <br />Roc O'Connell <br />Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries was also in attendance. <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes <br />On a motion by William Brown, seconded by John Silvaggi, the minutes were accepted as <br />amended. <br />Memorial Day Review <br />Robert Keating reported that the Memorial Day ceremonies had a large turn out from citizens of <br />the Town. The speaker system worked very well. The Cemetery Department had purchased a <br />power converter which was used with the public address system. The Board commented on how <br />all the hard work of the Cemetery Department made the grounds of all four cemeteries very <br />beautiful. <br />Old Business <br />Cemetery receipts were reviewed. <br />New Business <br />The Trustees accepted with regret the end of John Silvaggi's term on the Trustees. He has been a <br />dedicated member of the Board for over eighteen years, serving in various capacities. He will be <br />missed. We were pleased to welcome new member Steve Meehan to the Board. The Trustees <br />elected William Brown as Secretary and Mary Vincent as Vice-Chairman. Daniel Driscoll will <br />continue as Chairman. <br />The center island wall at Wood End is being worked on this summer. <br />Replacing road ways at Laurel Hill is also being done. (this was in the Capital Improvement Plan <br />of the Town.) <br />
