Town of Reading ' <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees ~ <br />Tuesday, September 7, 1999 <br />1 q jU -b A It. 0 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of September 7, 1999 convened at 6:00 P.M. at <br />Wood End Cemetery. <br />Present: Daniel Driscoll, Chairman <br />Mary Vincent, Vice Chair <br />William Brown, Secretary <br />Steve Meehan <br />Absent Trustee: Roc O'Connell <br />One vacant seat <br />Robert Keating, Superintendent of Cemeteries, residents Richard Andersen and Janet Baronian <br />were also in attendance. <br />Wood End <br />Trustees viewed site requested for a bench, agreed it could be installed without inscription. If it <br />were inscribed it would be a headstone in a flat marker area. Viewed new wall at the circle, voted <br />to proceed with plaque on rock in circle, once price was known. <br />Review of Past Meeting; Minutes <br />Trustees adjourned to the Berger Room at 6:35pm to review minutes. The minutes of July 6, 1999 <br />were accepted on a motion by Mary Vincent, seconded by Steve Meheen. <br />FY2001 Budget <br />Reviewed and voted to accept proposed FY2001 budget, on a motion by Mary Vincent, seconded <br />by Steve Meheen. <br />New Business <br />Robert Keating stated that to replace the chain link fence in Laurel Hill is estimated at $25,000 <br />with our people doing much of work, could be painted. <br />Robert Keating stated that because of paving in front of Old South and the need for parents to drop <br />off their children, a request was made by Rev. Sweet to open Highland Street exit for a few weeks. <br />Bill Brown suggested that Highland might serve well as the only access to Laurel Hill; Mr Keating <br />will suggest to Town Manager and others. <br />Janet Baronian suggested interest in joining the Trustees and will apply; we would welcome her. <br />
