Town of Reading <br />Board of Cemetery Trustees <br />Tuesday, October 4, 2005 <br />Pursuant to a meeting legally posted, the meeting of October 4, 2005 convened at 6:00 P.M. in <br />the Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading Town Hall. <br />Present: Roc O'Connell, Vice Chairman <br />William Brown, Secretary <br />Janet Baronian <br />Ron Stortz <br />Douglas Bruce <br />Absent: Mary Vincent, Chairman <br />Also Present: Robert Keating, Superintendent <br />Review of Past Meeting Minutes 3 <br />The Minutes of September 6, 2005 were reviewed and approved on -a motion b3 Do Wdee <br />and seconded by Ron Stortz. <br />General Business <br />The Trustees reviewed and voted the budget as recommended by Bob Keating 5-0 on a motion <br />by Bill Brown, seconded by Doug Bruce. The budget will use $87,674 from the P.C. interest, <br />Bob Keating cautioned that because of low interest rates and other factors, the cemeteries may <br />not be able to meet it's contractual obligations in a short time. Among the factors are more <br />cremations, less sales of grave boxes, $50,000 from the P.C. fund for Wood End, $150,000 from <br />sale of lots for Wood End, approximately $50,000 given to the Town for benefits (health) in the <br />late 90's. <br />Bob noted that the crew was thatching the lawns etc and on going cleanup. He also noted that <br />the contract short time labor has not worked out and that he will go back to hiring our own part <br />timers. <br />Receipts <br />Receipts are normal. <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:05 P.M.
