Town of Reading <br />16 Lowell Street '-,LIVED <br />Reading, MA 01867-2685 F~EADIING, <br />2001 FEB IS A 8: 4 2 <br />FAX: (781) 942-9070 <br />RECREATION DIVISION: (781) 942-9075 <br />Recreation Committee <br />Minutes of January 10, 2001 meeting <br />Town Hall Conference Room <br />MEETING NOTES: <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM <br />A quorum was declared present. <br />ATTENDEES: Jack Downing, Susan Cavicchi, Claire Bolger, Chris Campbell, Bernie Winne, <br />Lorraine Salter, Mary Ellen Stolecki, Dave Bryant, Kate Kaminer <br />GUESTS: David Chase, Dennis Walsh, Jim Goodwin, and Steven D'Agati <br />Approval of Minutes, Wednesday, December 13, 2000 <br />Motioned to Approve: Susan Cavicchi <br />Seconded: Chris Campbell <br />Passed Unanimously <br />Public hearing is now open (7:38 p.m.) <br />Public Hearing on the Reading Adult Soccer Team Special Permit Request. <br />The Reading Adult Soccer Team requested to use the Coolidge Middle School field for three soccer <br />games on 4/22/, 5/13 and 6/3/0lbeginning at 11:00 AM. <br />David Chase spoke to the Committee on behalf of the group. <br />There are 15 members of the team who are Reading residents. Of that number, 5 players are coaches <br />of youth teams in Town. They would like to contribute to the community in any way that they can. <br />They have used the fields in the past without any problems or concerns from resident and do not <br />anticipate any problems in the future. <br />The size of the field is adequate. They were concerned that the size of the field might be too small <br />but after speaking with Recreation Administrator Wayne Currie, the field is a good size. <br />There was a concern from the committee about the team using the field when conditions are bad. <br />The group mentioned that they would follow any guideline set up by the committee. <br />
